Refer & Earn pays you for bringing artists to EVEN. Here is how invites work, what you earn and how you get paid.
What is Refer & Earn?
Refer & Earn pays you for bringing artists to EVEN. Invite an artist, and when they sell their digital music you earn 5% of every sale. That 5% is paid out of EVEN's fee, so the artist you invite keeps their full 80%.
Who can refer?
Any artist on EVEN can refer if they're based in a country that Stripe supports. Referral earnings are paid out through Stripe, so the program is limited to the countries where Stripe supports payouts. You can check where Stripe is available on Stripe's global availability page.
Does the artist I invite pay anything?
No. Nothing comes out of their pocket. On every digital music sale, the split is 80% to the artist, 5% to you and 15% to EVEN. The artist earns exactly what they would if they had joined on their own.
Where do I find Refer & Earn?
In your EVEN dashboard, open Refer & Earn in the sidebar on the left. From there you can manage your invites and see the status of the artists you have invited.
How does it work?
Invite an artist. Share your personal link, or invite someone by email from your Refer & Earn page. They'll know the invite is from you, and you can include a personal note.
They join EVEN. The artist creates an account through your invite within 30 days, and they'll see that you invited them. Invites expire after 30 days.
You earn on their sales. On every digital music sale they make, you earn 5%, paid out of EVEN's share.
You get paid monthly. Earnings become available 30 days after each sale and are paid out at the start of every month.
How much could I earn?
How much you earn depends on how much the artists you invite sell. The calculator on the Invite tab shows what you could earn from an album, a strong month or a big release.
How long does an invite last?
An invite lasts 30 days. If an invite expires, you can resend it from the Referrals tab.
When do I get paid?
Earnings stay pending for 30 days after each sale, while the refund window is open. After that, the funds become available and are paid out at the start of the next month.
What if more than one person invites the same artist?
The invite or link the artist actually signs up through gets the credit. Each artist can have only one referrer. If you think there's been a mistake, email [email protected].
Can I refer an artist who is already on EVEN?
No. Once an artist has an EVEN account, they can't be referred.
Can my manager or team send invites for me?
Yes. Managers and collaborators can send invites from your account, and you, the artist, earn the 5%. Managers don't earn referral rewards, and you can't refer artists you manage or represent.
I invited artists to EVEN before Refer & Earn launched. Do I earn on them?
No. Referrals and invites sent before Refer & Earn launched on [LAUNCH DATE] don't earn. Any new invites you send from your Refer & Earn page do, so now's a great time to send them. Thanks for spreading the word!
Can the artist I invite switch to a different referrer?
No. Once an artist joins through an invite, their referrer is set.
Which sales count?
Digital music releases and pre-orders count. Vinyl, CDs, merch, events and memberships don't.
Can my 5% change later?
No. Your 5% is locked in when the artist joins.
What happens if the artist leaves EVEN?
New earnings stop on the day their music leaves EVEN. Everything you've already earned stays yours.
How do I get paid?
Complete your Stripe setup in your EVEN dashboard, and payouts go to your Stripe account automatically at the start of every month. There's no minimum payout.
Earnings that aren't claimed within 90 days of becoming available are forfeited, so complete your Stripe setup as soon as you start referring.
What if a sale is refunded?
If a sale is refunded before your earnings clear, it's removed from your pending balance. If it's refunded after you've been paid, the amount is deducted from your future referral earnings.
What about taxes?
Tax reporting is handled through Stripe. If you meet the reporting threshold in your country, Stripe will issue the tax forms you need.
