A Label Account is built for managing more than one artist. If you are a record label, distributor, management company or similar, this is the account type you want rather than an individual Artist Account.
Who can open one
Label Accounts are available to record labels, distributors, management companies and other bona fide music industry entities.
The key requirement is that you have real, documented business relationships with the artists you manage. That is covered in full in our article on adding artists to your roster, and it is worth reading before you start building a roster.
Setting one up
Sign in at backstage.even.biz with your email address or phone number. There is no password to create, and no application or approval queue to wait in.
During setup you are asked whether you are an Artist or a Record Label. Choose Record Label. This is the point at which the account type is set, so it is worth getting right first time.
If you have already created an Artist Account and need it converted, or you have ended up with more than one account, email [email protected] and we will sort it out rather than you starting again.
Delivering releases
You can build releases directly in Backstage the same way an artist does.
If you already work with a distributor, releases can also be delivered to EVEN through your existing DDEX workflow, with the metadata and content files arriving from your distributor. If that is how you would prefer to work, contact us and we will walk through what is involved.
What EVEN takes
EVEN retains a share of each transaction:
Digital sales: 20% of gross revenue, or 30% for major label affiliated artists
Memberships: 15% of gross revenue
Merchandise and events: 5% of gross revenue
If you have a separate agreement with EVEN, the revenue share in that agreement applies instead.
How you then split revenue with your artists, producers and other participants is governed by your own agreements with them. EVEN does not determine, verify or enforce those splits.
Paying your artists and collaborators
You can allocate percentages of net revenue to collaborators through Backstage. EVEN deducts those percentages and pays each collaborator directly through their own Stripe Connect account, on the same daily schedule as your own payouts.
Each collaborator has to complete their own Stripe Connect setup before they can be paid, so chase that early. Until they do, their share does not reach them.
Running a flagship campaign
For larger campaigns, EVEN Studio offers a fully branded storefront on your own domain, built around a specific album or EP release.
Studio is a separate product from the EVEN marketplace. If it sounds relevant, email [email protected] and we will route you to the right person.
Getting in touch
Email [email protected]. The same address covers partnership and label conversations, so you do not need a different route for those.
