My Payment Was Declined or Checkout Will Not Complete

What to try when a card is declined or checkout will not finish, and why a declined card can still show a temporary charge.

Most declines come from the bank rather than from EVEN, so the fix is usually quick.

  1. Retry once. A single retry clears a surprising number of declines.

  2. Check your card details and billing country match the payment method you are using.

  3. Try a different method, such as Apple Pay, if your card keeps failing.

  4. If you see an error like "failed to create checkout session," wait a minute and try again in a fresh tab.

Still stuck? Message us from the release page and include the artist name and the email or phone number you are trying to use. We will get you through checkout.

My card was declined but I still see a charge

That is a pending authorisation rather than a completed payment. When a card is declined, the bank will sometimes hold the amount briefly before releasing it back to you.

Nothing was captured on our side. If you did not receive a receipt email, you have not been charged, and the hold will drop off on its own, usually within a few business days.

If it is still showing after seven days, contact your bank and ask them to release the authorisation. Give them the date and the amount and they will be able to find it.
