Less than you can before it goes live, which is why it is worth getting the important things right beforehand. Here is what is fixed, what you can still change yourself, and what we can change for you.
What locks
Your price locks after the first sale. Once a fan has bought the release, the price is set. Decide on your pricing before launch rather than after.
Splits lock when your release goes live. Get collaborator emails and percentages right beforehand. If something is wrong, email us straight away rather than waiting, because payouts run daily against sales that have already happened.
Your public EVEN link is permanent. The name you choose during setup is the one your fans will see long term.
Your premiere date cannot be set in the past, and it cannot be moved by you once the release is live.
What you can still change yourself
Open the release in Backstage and click the three dots next to Publish Release. From there:
Edit Release Details for title, artwork, genre and language
Edit Content to add, remove or reorder tracks
Two things to know about editing tracks on a live release:
Any track you add is copyright scanned, even on a release that is already selling. If it is flagged, the release moves to Disputed and is pulled from sale.
A release must always keep at least one track, so you cannot remove them all.
What we can change for you
Email [email protected] with your artist name and the release name for any of these:
Changing the date on a live release
Enabling downloads after launch
Taking a release down. You can end a release yourself, which closes it to new buyers. If you need the page fully removed, we handle that.
Fixing splits after they have locked
Anything else on a live release. Tell us what you need and we will tell you what is possible.
What happens when you end a release
Your release stops being available for new fans to buy. Every fan who already bought it keeps everything in their library permanently, your data stays in Backstage, and anything owed to you keeps paying out on schedule.
Nothing disappears from anyone's library because a campaign finished. We cannot pull purchased music back out of fans' libraries, and we would not want to.
